Pasty.NET is located in Calumet, Mi. Pasty offers dial-up service throughout the UP and across the U.S. Pasty also offers high speed access in selected areas (see their web site for exact locations). Recently, AT&T announced limited DSL service for portions of Republic. A newspaper article mentioned full DSL service to Republic and the surrounding area would be coming soon. Soon was not defined.

 

Recently, this website tech. signed up for Alltel Highspeed service via a cell phone wireless modem. Results are as good as can be expected in the out of way places. It is equivalent to DSL speed.

 

Since the technology changes weekly, cell phone users should check their carrier to see if the carrier provides internet access in addition to cell phone service.
