The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Leslie Hurst at 7:04 p.m..
Members present: Jay Mattila, Glenn Adams, Marcy Rankinen, Vickie Radcliffe, Bill Payne - Zoning Administrator, Leslie Hurst
Members absent: Peggy Lahtela, Diane Tapio
Others in attendance: Virginia Mattson, EDC; Tom Sandblom; Kevin Trevillian & Tom Gordon, Coleman Engineering.
Marcy Rankinen was appointed secretary, pro-tem in the absence of Peggy Lahtela.
It was moved by Marcy Rankinen, supported by Glenn Adams to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of January 15, 2007; motion carried unanimously.
The agenda was approved on the motion of Glenn Adams, with support by Vickie Radcliffe; motion carried.
There was no public comment.
There was no permit reviews, land division requests, etc..

Zoning Administrator Report 2/16/07
1. Applications for Zoning Compliance Permit
Kevin & Sandra Hennesy plan to build a garage with loft in anticipation of building a home on the property on Copper Rd. Located on the south end of Lake Michigamme. Approved 2/12/07.
2. No Land Division requests.

Parks & Recreation: No report.
EDC(Virginia Mattson) - Reported a balance in the committee treasury of $264.76; consenus of the group to continue to keep the account open pending outcome of various projects and committees in the near future.
Heritage Trail: Meeting held on February 15th; T o begin and initiate work at the Perch Lake area for entrance to the wetlands preserve, parking, etc.; use grant money as leverage to sources of other grants; and begin to pin point the trail route.
Zoning Ordinance subcommittee: On hold pending direction of township plans.
Ordinance subcommittee: Check on status to decide if further meetings are needed.
Township strategic plan: Community meeting held on January 31' with Rita Hodgkins; next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 11th.
Old Business:
Munson Park camping area: Check if township still desires to have a set of guidelines posted for the area this coming summer camping season.
Township website: In Progress.
New Business:
Five-year Recreation Plan: Spent time on making recommendations to the rewrite of the Township Recreation Plan 2007-2011; Coleman representatives will come back with a revised copy for board review.
Public Comment: Glenn Adams stressed the need for help on the Festival Committee.
Next meeting: March 19th, 7:00 p.m. - Republic Township Hall.
It was moved by Glenn Adams, supported by Vickie Radcliffe to adjourn; motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:13 p.m..
