Planning and Recreation Meeting--January 15, 2007

Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Diane Tapio at 7:00.

Members Present:
Jay Mattila, Marcy Rankinen, Leslie Hurst, Bill Payne, Zoning Administrator, Diane Tapio, and Peggy Lahtela. Board representative Glenn Adams joined us after the Board meeting.

Member Absent:
Vickie Radcliffe

Minutes of the previous months meeting were read and approved with a motion from Marcy Rankinen with support from Jay Mattila. Motion carried.

Agenda was read and approved, with changes under new business, by Peggy Lahtela with support from Marcy Rankinen. Motion carried.

Reports:
Zoning Administrator:

Parks and Recreation:
Diane reports that due to lack of snow not much is happening.
Faye has put up the snowmen on Kloman Bridge
An Epiphany tree burning was held at the sledding hill with about 40 in attendance.

EDC:
Diane had spoken to Virgie Mattson and she has agreed to attend our next meeting.

Heritage Trail:

Re-Zoning Sub-Committee:
Leslie made a motion to continue the ordinance sub-committee as established at the November 20th meeting. Bill Payne will be organizing the next meeting to address items 2, 3, and 4 of township memo of 12-19-06. Support Marcy Rankinen. Motion carried. Bill will be contacting Dave Gillis to set up a meeting.

We have set the time of our regular meetings to be on the third Monday of every month.
January 15 February 19 March 19 April 16 May 21 June 18 July 16 August 20
September 17 October 15 November 19 December 17.

Meeting adjourned with a motion by Leslie Hurst at 9:15.
