Meeting called to order at 6:40pm
Roll Call: Diane, Marcie, Jay, Leslie, Bill
Absent: Vickie, Peggy
Purpose of Meeting: Consider and act on C. Comstock Land Division application.
The land division application and supporting documents were reviewed. Discussed the 1:4 width to depth ratio, zoning district requirements for WR1 where the proposed parcel is located, remaining splits, road access easements; all requirements were met.
Motion made by Jay to approve the land division request, supported by Marcie, approved by unanimous vote.
Motion made by Marcie to adjourn, supported by Diane, meeting adjourned at 7:05pm.

Planning Commission and Recreation Committee Meetings June 18, 2007
Meeting was called to order by Diane Tapio, in Chairperson Leslie Hursts absence, at 7:04 P.M.

Vickie Radcliffe approved the minutes of the 5/21/07 meeting with support from Jay Mattila. Motion carried.
Marcy Rankinen approved the minutes of the 6/13/07 special meeting with support from Peggy Lahtela. Motion carried
Peggy Lahtela approved the agenda with support from Vickie Radcliffe. Motion carried.
Motion to accept the Robert Martin land division as presented by Glenn Adams. Support Marcy Rankinen. Motion carried. New legal description as follows: the East 1200 feet of the North 300 feet of the NE !/4 of SW 1/4 of Section 1, T 46N.- R 30 W, Republic Township, Marquette County, Michigan
Motion made by Marcy Rankinen to deny Luoma land division and send it back for revision and reconfiguration of parcel. Support Vickie Radcliffe. Motion carried. Zoning administrator to confer with the individuals involved.
Motion to accept the Charles Dillon land division as presented by Glenn Adams. Support Jay Mattila. Motion carried. Part of Gov't Lot 1, Section 24, T45N-R30W, Republic Township, Marquette County, Michigan

Prisoners were here for Memorial Day clean-up at the cemetery and will be made available throughout the summer for other clean-up projects.
Golf driving range is busy
Dean Korvela gave a presentation on frisbee golf and believes it could be implemented in the township. He will also visit the Township Board meeting next week.

Zoning Ordinance Sub-Committee
met last Wednesday and started off with a recommendation to ask the Township Board to revise the contract with CUPPAD to include a Master Plan.

Campground Update
Marcy Rankinen brought in guidelines. Peggy Lahtela made a motion to accept the guidelines as presented but, adding a two (2) week maximum camping stay and suggesting a $10.00 donation to defray costs. Support Glenn Adams. Motion carried. Glenn will bring the proposal to the Township Board for approval and implementation.
Website Updates
Fred Nannestad reported an active month so far in June. Republic, Michigan now comes up when a Google search is done.
Meeting was adjourned with a motion by Peggy Lahtela with support from Glenn Adams at 9:05 P.M. Next meeting will be July 16, 2007.
