PRESENT: Adams, Hurst, Johnson, Mattila, Skogman
VISITORS: 9 area residents
1. Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:00pm in the Township Hall.
2. Salute to Flag
3. Motion by Mattila, seconded by Adams, to approve the agenda as presented. CARRIED.
4. Motion by Mattila, seconded by Adams, to approve the minutes of the following meetings as presented. CARRIED.

5. Motion by Adams, seconded by Hurst, to pay the bills in the amount of $64,834.75. CARRIED.
6. PUBLIC COMMENT: length – 1.5 minutes
7. REPORTS:
a) Trustee Adams- attended & reported on 2 County Solid Waste meetings.
b) Trustee Hurst- held discussion w/CCI regarding the Wetlands Preserve.
c) Heritage Trail- Authority has drafted ballot language for November proposal.
d) Ambulance- the Board was informed that the new Assistant Coordinator is Tabitha Skogman; crew having problems with their flashing lights that are without sirens; matter is tabled until further info is obtained.
e) Supervisor/Assessor- Board members will be given a written report; a written report was received from the Youth Center.
f) Website- Mr. Nannestad; gave an extensive report.
g) DPW- lift station repairs are complete.
8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
a) Intercept Agreement-
Motion by Adams, seconded by Hurst, to sign the Intercept Agreement with Bell Hospital. CARRIED.
b) Township Audit- problem with the State has been resolved.
c) Recognition Ceremony- planned for 06-22-08.
d) Sewer Line Repairs- special meeting scheduled for May 27th at NOON.
e) CDBG Road Repair Grant- problems with Road Commission work schedule; work to start mid-July & be done by November 1st.
f) Ordinance Control Officer- still working on this matter.
g) Building Maintenance Person Replacement-
Motion by Adams, seconded by Hurst, to hire Brandi Alto and Jodi Mattila as Building Maintenance crew. CARRIED.
8. NEW BUSINESS:
a) Summer Student Hiring- 5 applications received.
Motion by Hurst, seconded by Adams, to hire applicant #1 & #4 for the summer with #2 being the alternate. CARRIED, 4-yes, 1-no [Skogman].
b) Split Rail Fencing- Snowmobile Club will put up fencing along side the Heritage Gardens in order to protect it.
c) Family Medical Leave Act- no action
d) Extended Medical Leave-
Motion by Hurst, seconded by Adams, to rescind current policy. CARRIED.
Motion by Mattila, seconded by Hurst, to reject amended policy. CARRIED, 3-yes, 2-no [Johnson & Skogman].
e) Planning Commission Vacancy- 3 applications received.
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Skogman, to appoint Bill De Genaro, Tom Sandblom & Jim Brennan to serve on the Republic Township Planning Commission, thus expanding said commission to 9 (nine) members. CARRIED.
f) Volunteer Awards Nominees- tabled until May 27th meeting.
g) Water Line Grant- the Board has to meet with Duane Reed from Rural Development.
h) General Engineering Agreement/UPEA-
Motion by Adams, seconded by Hurst, to approve the General Engineering Agreement with UPEA. CARRIED.

VISITORS: none
1. Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 12:05pm in the Township Office.
2. PURPOSE OF MEETING: Discussion/action on Evergreen Street sewer line repairs.
Sewer Line Repairs-
Motion by Skogman, seconded by Adams, to offer the Antilla’s a rebate on their front footage amount and have them put in their own septic system. CARRIED.
Ordinance Control Officer- Bill DeGenaro is considering the position.
Summer Workers-
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Adams, to repost for 1 summer worker w/qualifications and to hire Jesse Durant as a summer helper for a minimum of 6 weeks. CARRIED.
Spring Clean-Up- scheduled to start June 9th

VISITORS: none
1. Supervisor Johnson called the meeting to order at 12:05pm in the Township Office.
2. PURPOSE OF MEETING: Water System improvements grant/paperwork.
Motion by Adams, seconded by Johnson, to authorize UPEA to do a formal application for the Water System Improvements grant and to authorize Supervisor Johnson to sign said paperwork with Clerk Skogman and Treasurer Mattila to witness the signature(s), with their positions identified. CARRIED.
Motion by Adams, seconded by Johnson, to authorize the submission of the second application with Supervisor Johnson authorized to sign the paperwork. CARRIED.
Board consensus is to include the front-end loader purchase in the grant paperwork.
