The Main Event is Republic Festival Days formally known as Ethnic Days.

The event took place June 30, 2007.

Republic Festival Days normally takes place around or before the 4th of July holiday each summer.

Republic Festival Day on Saturday, June 30 will kick off at 10:00 AM with a parade, followed by concerts, crafts, a car show and historical displays in North Republic.

This year's parade marshall is Glenn Adams, who is honored for his many years of charity work playing his music for fund-raisers, picnics and other community events. Adams has served on the Republic Township Board and been a member of the Republic Lions Club for man years.

Setup for the car show will begin at 9:00 AM. Trophies will be announce at 4:00 PM. For more information, call Alan Mattila at 906-376-2409 or visit UPcars.com.

Displays at Republic Township Hall will feature family and historical photographs. For more information call Mary Lou Martin at 906-376-2335.

Childen's activities will include a moonwalk, slide, Velcro wall, splash tank, paintball and pony rides, as well as a free throw contest at 11:30 AM.

The fireman will sponser a duck race at 4:00 PM, with the winner announced at 5:00 PM. Tickets will be sold all day at the town hall.

Live music will be played on the grounds throughout the day, including a concert by the Negaunee City band following the parade, and an afternoon concert by the Ishpeming Blue Notes.
