Potato Fest. A new celebration for the communities history in potato production presented by the Republic Historical Society, (a 501-c-3 charity) Saturday August 9, 2008, in the township Emergency Services Building off M-95.

The celebration featured:

A meal with potato, pork, fixings, side dishes, and beverage for the $5.00 donation;

Potato farming exhibit, past and present;

Music;

Chinese Raffle;

Local groups and individuals with art work, crafts, bakery, leftover collectables, childrens games.
