Notice of Tipping Fee Increase – Effective July 1, 2025
The Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority (MCSWMA) will be increasing the solid waste tipping fees to $87.00 per ton, effective July 1, 2025.

This increase is necessary to fund the construction of a new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) designed to remove PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) from leachate generated at the landfill. The construction of this facility is mandated by an Administrative Consent Order between MCSWMA and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) following the discovery of PFAS in the leachate.
